Deciding whether to have dental implants in South Yorkshire

For most people, getting dental implants in South Yorkshire is not something they rush into. Dental implants are not cheap, they are an investment and they involve having to spend time in the dental surgeon’s chair being drilled. No one rushes into that decision. But when your teeth are failing, or have already come out, you want to know that you have given yourself the best option for replacement teeth, and for most people that means dental implants.

Your implant consultation

The first step to deciding whether to have dental implants is to book yourself in for a consultation. This is your opportunity to see the clinic and meet the dental team, including Dr Jones, and decide whether this is somewhere you would feel comfortable having dental implants fitted.

For our part, we need to make sure that you are able to receive dental implants and whether you need extra preparatory treatments. Perhaps you are looking for dental implants as a replacement for some other kind of restoration that has failed, maybe a broken bridge or loose dentures.

We will carefully examine all your mouth parts, head and neck, paying careful attention to the health and position of your jaws. If we think you will need extra treatments, we may also need to do a CT scan as well as take x-rays.

If we think your jawbone is in good enough condition to receive dental implants, we can go ahead and book you in for implant surgery. You may want to get all your teeth replaced with a technique that anchors them onto only 4-6 implants on each jaw. There are lots of possibilities that we can discuss.
